The Red Lion Pub, owned by the Charles Wells Brewery and located on the High Street, is run by Dave Bell and Nate Alexander from Turvey.

The Red Lion Pub at Yardley Hastings was named the Best Destination Pub in Northamptonshire.
Commenting on their award, Dave and Nate said: “We are very grateful to have been nominated and chosen by our customers for the Muddy Awards and are proud to have won the Best Destination Pub Award for Northamptonshire.
“As for all hospitality businesses, it’s been a difficult 18 months with restrictions and closings due to Covid-19, with both employees and customers having to adjust to track and trace, wearing face masks and table service via an app, so detection is certainly for everyone something to celebrate. “
In addition to getting used to the new restrictions, the pub owners have created a secret outdoor garden restaurant, serving customers at home and turning the Red Lion Pub into a local shop selling essentials and homemade baked goods when the Blocking is a challenge for residents along the way.
The pub’s menu has been described by its business owners as “high-end restaurants at an affordable price”. It includes gin and tonic flavored fish and chips, jackfruit bahjis, and pink duck breast, to name a few typical dishes. They pride themselves on their “theatrical” cocktail menu, with drinks that have been likened to the Alchemist Bar, including dry ice and bubbles.
