Family business in Northamptonshire disrupted after Pizza Land Rover was destroyed by vandals

A Northamptonshire family in distress after their company’s vehicle was destroyed.

Santina’s Wood Fired Pizza Company, based in Weedon Bec in West Northamptonshire, began in early 2020 during the Covid pandemic.

It started out as a “charity” providing for those in need, but now the business run by a family team of Oli, Santina, Sam and Amelia is a resounding success.

However, on December 27, disaster struck when vandals attacked the company’s Land Rover by setting it on fire.

The Land Rover was an important part of the company

The custom built vehicle was used to transport the team and their pizzas to events including weddings, festivals and even visits to Northampton Saints.

The company shared a picture of their wrecked vehicle with a heartbreaking message.

“Although we don’t want to be the bearer of bad news at this time of year, we have some sad news to report,” the team shared on Facebook.

“On December 27th at 9:16 pm, the Royal Ordnance Depot in Weedon Bec, where our Land Rover is stored, was broken into and set on fire.

“It is very disheartening to think that someone would do this to a small family business. We almost hope it’s a failed theft as it would be easier.

“The amount of work – from what started as a community service at the start of the pandemic in 2020 to what has become of it now – makes it harder to take as it’s a massive setback.”

The company has reported the incident to the Northamptonshire Police under Crime Reference Number 21000751883, who are now investigating the incident.

“This was a green Land Rover Defender that needed to be fixed when sometime between Jan.

“No arrests have been made and there is no description of the perpetrators. Anyone with information should contact us on 101, quoting 21000751883.”

Santina’s team has said that they are “disappointed” but that they will not let this spoil them.

“As terrifying as it is, we are all ready, with the help of our loyal customers, to make everything bigger and stronger than before,” they told Northants Live.

In fact, their customers are so loyal that a GoFundMe page has already been set up with a goal of £ 10,000 to help the family replace the wrecked Land Rover.

“As some of you may or may not have seen, Santina’s Wood Fired Pizza Co’s beautiful classic Land Rover Defender was the victim of a horrific arson attack on December 27th,” said the fundraiser launched by Amelia Mendel.

“These guys put their hearts and souls into this business and the Land Rover is an important part of it. He arranges transportation to and from the sites, pulls the ovens and looks amazing! Please help these guys get back on their feet by donating all you can! “
