A Northampton company was hit by a “devastating” fire last Friday that ripped through its headquarters and distribution center.
The flame ripped apart the Brackmills distribution center of My 1st Years, a company that sells personalized baby gifts and employs 150 people.
At the height of the fire, eight Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue devices were on site, including a high volume pump, two air devices and two water arches.

Daniel Price and Jonny Sitton, owners of My 1st Years, issued a statement regarding the incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning (May 1st).
They said, “While this is a devastating blow to the company and our 150 employees, our overall feeling of relief is that there have been no injuries or fatalities, especially at a time when our business is reaching new heights.
“We’re lifelong friends and built this company from the ground up over a long and arduous decade. Given the optimism we’ve had lately, with the pandemic easing and record highs, this feels like a cruel blow at the worst. However, we want to reassure the public that we will overcome this. “
“Please be patient with us, although we cannot take orders at the moment, we will keep you informed every step of the way back.”
The duo say they lost the company’s home for seven years. The building was completely destroyed along with machines and a photo studio.
They added, “This is an amazing setback. However, our unique selling point is our personalization for each item, our commitment and our passion. That has not been lost. Because of this, we know that we will return stronger than ever.
“We have always designed and personalized everything here in the UK and no matter what happens now it will never change.
“There are already strategic discussions going on about how we can get our goods back into the hands of our valued customers as quickly as possible.
“Finally, we would like to thank the men and women of the Northamptonshire Fire Department for their courage on the ground.”
