Park run events in Corby, Kettering and Irchester have restarted, with runners, joggers and walkers returning to the weekly free 5K timed event.
The popular park runs had been on hold since the beginning of the pandemic, but this morning hundreds of avid park runners took part.
Races have resumed at West Glebe Park in Corby, Irchester Country Park near Wellingborough and Wicksteed Park in Kettering.
Rob Parkes, Event Director of Kettering parkrun said: “We are very happy. It’s nice to be back again.
“We had people taking part from home during the lockdown, with around 60 people a week taking part in a #Notaparkrun organized by Andrea Crellin.
“It feels like we’re almost starting all over again. The social element is just as big as the fitness and the more the better.”
The parkrun offers a free, weekly 5 km walk / jog / run with a specified time every Saturday at 9 a.m., open to all ages and abilities.
