Space for the children to play and for the parents to relax …

A popular Northamptonshire park opened a beach this summer to keep kids entertained without parents having to drive miles to the nearest sea.

Stanwick Lakes, on the A45 between Rushden and Raunds, has set up a man-made beach near the park’s playground equipment, which opened on Friday 23rd July.

It’s almost like being at the real sea …

The tower has yet to be replaced, so the bosses decided to use the space in the form of a temporary beach.

There’s even a waffle hut nearby called Stanwick-on-Sea, and buckets and shovels will be available.

In a post on their Facebook page, park managers said, “Life is a beach, they say, but Northamptonshire is a long way from the sea.

“So we decided that while we were waiting for our new climbing tower we would have a fun new area with a marine vibe, complete with striped lounge chairs, sand, buckets and spades, stone sticks and fun competitions.

The waffle hut is also open.

“Our new refreshment kiosk, The Waffle Shack, will also be open! Selling delicious waffles and crepes with a selection of sauces, ice cream and toppings, YUM. Plus hot and cold drinks.

“Why don’t you visit Stanwick Lakes for lots of fun?”

The Stanwick Lakes car park is open 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Visit the Stanwick Lakes Facebook page to learn more about the beach and the competitions that win prizes from The Waffle Shack.
