Craigievar Castle in Alford, Scotland is high on the list and is believed to be the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle, but only 23 percent of the nation know this fact.

The market town of Oundle in Northamptonshire ranks fourth, while the Lincolnshire Wolds ranks seventh.

Tom Hall, VP of Experience at Lonely Planet, said: “London has always dominated tourism in the UK and for good reason, but the whole country is full of historic sites and natural wonders.

The pandemic has made us all stop and reevaluate our trip, and I think now is the perfect time to update this bucket list with some of those under-the-radar places that you may have overlooked in the past to have. “

Too often these lesser-known tourist spots are forgotten, and staycationers choose the bigger cities to satisfy their wanderlust. Only 3 in 10 Britons say they try to find places that are off the beaten path rather than opting for the bigger tourist spots like London and the Lake District. Perhaps more shocking is that 10 percent of respondents admit they never travel within the UK.

It is therefore not surprising that the publisher of travel guides, Lonely Planet, saw a significant increase in the number of people staying in the face of continued scrutiny of international travel. as well as an increasing interest in travel to destinations off the beaten path during 2020.

With the current year 2021, this series of photos inspires the future to encourage the British to explore their own shores. along with photography, you can easily recreate yourself.

All photos were taken on the Xperia 5 II. The handset comes with a professional triple lens camera.
