Record revenue at Northamptonshire lighting company

Revenue increased to a record level at a Northamptonshire lighting company during its latest financial year. The group said its directors “remain optimistic” that activity levels will continue to improve.

Collingwood Lighting, which is based in Sywell, near Wellingborough, is a designer and supplier of residential, commercial and exterior luminaires into the professional refurbishment and new-build markets in the UK and France.

The company has reported a turnover of £38m for the year to 31 March 2022, up from £30.5m in 2021.

Pre-tax profits went from £4.4m to £4.7m over the same period.

A statement signed off by the board said: “The company recorded a significant increase in sales revenue of almost 25 per cent in the reporting period, to another record level.

“Several record sales months were achieved as demand for the company’s products was extremely strong against a backdrop of limited travel and hospitality spending available to consumers, which prompted home improvement activity.”

It added: “The directors remain optimistic that the general level of activity will continue to show an improvement in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
